Information Sent Directly
Search terms
A name, location, or other value typed into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Gilmer County Busted Mugshots does not store or maintain a separate log of those search terms on its own servers. The provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the request.
Messages and emails
An email or contact message is kept as needed to read, answer, and preserve the communication. It is not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is required by law, court order, or a lawful government request.
Technical Data and Cookies
Basic technical details may be received when a page loads. These details help deliver pages, understand use, and diagnose faults.
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on them
- Referring page, when available
- Visit timestamps
Cookies
Cookies or similar storage may help measure how visitors use the service. Browser controls can block or delete them, although a feature may work differently when storage is disabled. Advertising or analytics partners can set their own cookies under their own policies.
How Information Is Used
Information is used for ordinary service operations and support. The main purposes are:
- Keep the pages available, secure, and reasonably fast.
- Send a search request to the provider that operates the search tool.
- Learn which pages are useful and improve navigation.
- Find, diagnose, and correct technical problems.
- Show advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests.
Links and Outside Providers
The pages link to the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office, the county detention system, city police departments, courts, the Georgia Department of Corrections, federal locators, local news outlets, and independent search or publishing services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy, terms, uptime, and data practices control.
Some advertising providers can observe activity across different websites for interest-based advertising on their own systems. That tracking is governed by their disclosures and available opt-out tools, not by the county agencies linked from these pages.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold by Gilmer County Busted Mugshots. Information may nevertheless be processed by the following parties when needed for the stated purpose:
- Search partners that receive a query submitted through their tool.
- Analytics services that measure page use and technical performance.
- Advertising networks and their service vendors.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order or other lawful demand.
Security Limits
Reasonable, standard security practices are used, but no internet-connected service can promise perfect protection. Email, hosting systems, analytics tools, and search partners can each introduce separate risks. No guarantee is made that information will be breach-proof.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us page to ask that it be deleted, subject to records that must be retained by law.
Choices and Data Rights
Depending on the applicable law and the information held, a person may ask about data connected to a message or visit. Requests can include:
- A copy of personal data held about the requester.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion or erasure of information that may lawfully be removed.
- Opting out of certain processing, cookies, or interest-based advertising where a provider offers that control.
Requests should identify the information and the contact used to send it. A request cannot erase a government record, a court file, or a third-party publisher's copy. Destination providers must receive requests about data they hold.
Policy Changes
This policy may be revised when the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date or revision notice. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies from its posted date.
